Tirupati Police recover 450 mobile phones worth Rs 82 lakh in a month

TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh Police recovered 450 mobile phones worth Rs 82,00,000 in Tirupati district using the Central Equipment Identity Register portal (CIER) within a month.

The majority of the lost mobile phones were discovered in Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, according to the police, which would be handed over to the pilgrims.

Tirupati District SP Venkat Rao said that under the directions of DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy, Additional District SP Venkat Rao Tirupati Cyber Crime CI Ramachandra Reddy formed a special team of experts to recover the lost mobile phones and hand them over to the victims.

The victims who lost their cell phones and pilgrims across the district have already received around 1,180 recovered cell phones worth Rs 2,12,40,000 in five installments.

 The sixth installment, consisting of 450 mobile phones worth Rs 81,00,000, was discovered in less than a month and returned to the victims on Tuesday. Tirupati Cyber Crime Police so far recovered 1,630 mobile phones worth Rs 2,93,40,000 and handed them over to its owners in six installments.

Victims who lost their phones can make a complaint through the Mobile Hunt web application

Step 1 • You can text Hi or HELP to Mobile Hunt web application number 9490617873, and you will receive a Google application link from Tirupati District Police as a response.

Step 2 • By clicking on that link, you will be taken to an application form where you can enter the data of your missing phone and register your complaint.

Step 3• If you make a complaint using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, the information on the cell phone will be blocked, and the police will be notified.

Step 4 • Tirupati District Cyber Crime Police will immediately search your phone, recover it, and return it to the victims.
