2nd Monkeypox suspect reported in Khammam

HYDERABAD: Yet another suspected Monkeypox case was reported in Khammam district on Tuesday. The victim was identified as Sandeep Kumar, aged 35. He was a migrant from Lucknow who worked as a Granite worker in Arempullla village.

Sandeep, who came to Khammam on July 20, had not developed any classic symptoms of fever, cough or rashes over the body but had 'Papulosquamous crusted lesions' over palms, legs and scalp over the last two months.

Local RMP, who examined him, suspected it to be Monkeypox case and referred him to a government hospital on Tuesday. At 6.30 pm, the patient was shifted to Hyderabad Fever Hospital as the news spread in the media.

Meanwhile, the case from Kamareddy, who was admitted to Fever Hospital, had tested negative. His samples were sent to National Institute of Virology in Pune.
