Sr NTR's youngest daughter dies by suicide
Reportedly, she was suffering from health ailments for a few months.
HYDERABAD: Kantamaneni Uma Maheshwari, the youngest daughter of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder and legendary actor late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, died by suicide at her residence in Jubilee Hills here on Monday.
She was reportedly suffering from health ailments and stress which are believed to have driven her to the extreme step.
Meanwhile, the Jubilee Hills police registered a case based on a complaint lodged by Uma Maheshwari's daughter, Dikshita.
She however maintained that her mother took the extreme step due to nagging health issues. She said that there were only four people in their house around the time of the incident.
According to Dikshita, Uma Maheshwari went into her room and locked from inside around 12 noon. When she did not emerge from the room even after lunch time, the family members tried to open the door. But since she locked the door from inside, they could not.
The Jubilee Hills police said that they got a call from Dikshita at around 2:30 pm informing them about her mother's suicide. At around 2:45 pm, they reached Uma Maheshwari's residence and at around 3 pm, they entered her room.
The police registered the case under Section 174 of the CrPC.
