AMARAVATI: Former Chief Minister and TDP President, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday, urged the people of Andhra Pradesh to fight against the rule of YS Jaganmohan Reddy-led YSRCP. He said that YS Jagan was destroying the State.

In an open letter to the people of the State, Chandrababu Naidu said that the atrocities of the ruling YSRCP were increasing by the day and the dictatorial attitude of the Chief Minister was turning into a major setback to democracy. The State Government is resorting to violent activities, filing false cases and indecent attacks on the Opposition parties leaders for questioning the anti-democratic tendencies of the ruling dispensation, Chandrababu Naidu said.

The Gannavaram violence is a latest example of this, the TDP supremo said, adding that the TDP leaders were subjected to severe torture at Gannavaram and their properties were completely destroyed. The affected TDP leaders were projected as the prime accused and were sent to jail, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu said that poor people’s hard-earned properties were illegally being taken away. “Atrocities against women are increasing, a Dalit boy who questioned the liquor policy and a doctor who asked for masks during COVID were mercilessly killed by the YSRCP Government,” he said.

Local YSRCP leaders, with the cooperation from a few police officials, created total destruction on February 20 and severely damaged the TDP office at Gannavaram, Chandrababu Naidu said. “This was a well-planned and perfectly pre-designed scheme as the YSRCP activists attacked the TDP leaders under the direct supervision of the local police officials,” he said.

He also said that false cases were registered against at least 40 TDP leaders and some of them, including women, were subjected to torture in the police station.

Chandrababu Naidu said that a local MLA planned these attacks while his personal assistant, Orupalli Ranga, who is also the prime accused in the Sankalpa Siddhi scam, took a lead in the Gannavaram violence. He also said that YS Jaganmohan Reddy was unConstitutional.

The TDP President said that the fight was between democracy and dictatorship and urged the people to join him and save the State from destruction. ''It is ultimately the people who will be the victims if they do not come forward to save the State and the future generations,'' Chandrababu Naidu said.
