Telangana cabinet approves job calendar, extends support to Kerala flood victims

HYDERABAD: Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy informed that the Telangana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, has approved a job calendar to conduct job recruitments annually within a specified timeframe, as promised to the state's unemployed.

Briefing the media about the decisions the state cabinet took at its meeting in the Assembly Committee Hall on Thursday, Ponguleti said that the job calendar would be released on Friday in the Assembly.

In Kerala's Wayanad, heavy rains and landslides have resulted in numerous fatalities. The Telangana Cabinet passed a condolence resolution for the tragedy in Kerala, expressing sympathy to the families of the deceased. The government has pledged to provide necessary relief measures, the minister mentioned. The Cabinet also discussed issuing ration cards and health cards with a health profile for all state residents. A sub-committee comprising the Revenue Minister, Health Minister, and Civil Supplies Minister will be formed to finalize the related procedures. The minister announced that new ration cards will soon be issued to all eligible poor individuals.

The Cabinet approved the allocation of 600 square yards of residential land in Hyderabad to athletes Esha Singh, Nikhat Zareen, and Mohammed Siraj. It also decided to offer Group-1 level jobs to Nikhat Zareen and Siraj. The Cabinet resolved to provide a Municipal Commissioner job to Hari Ratan, son of the recently deceased Intelligence DG Rajeev Ratan, and a Deputy Tahsildar job to the son of the late Additional DG Murali, as stated by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.

The Cabinet approved the completion of the unfinished right and left canals under the Gouravelli project. It decided to prepare revised estimates with the necessary funds for acquiring approximately 2,000 acres of land. The Cabinet also discussed the appointment of MLCs, which was recently sent back by the state Governor, and decided to resend the names of two individuals for the Governor's approval.

The Cabinet decided to take appropriate measures to revive the Nizam Sugar Factory. It approved the payment of pending dues in the second phase and discussed the feasibility of producing ethanol and electricity at the factory. Responsibilities were assigned to the sub-committee already established under the leadership of Industries Minister Sridhar Babu. The Cabinet approved the transfer of water from Mallannasagar to Shamirpeta Lake and subsequently to the twin reservoirs of Hyderabad, Osman Sagar, and Himayat Sagar. It decided to transfer 15 TMCs, with 10 TMCs to fill the lakes and the remaining water to be used for Hyderabad's drinking water needs, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy clarified.
