Revanth Reddy promises to develop Warangal on par with Hyderabad

WARANGAL: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy conducted a comprehensive tour of the joint Warangal district, focusing on several key development initiatives to transform the region.

Upon arrival at Shyampet in Geesukonda mandal, district Ministers Konda Surekha and D Seethakka warmly welcomed him.

During his visit, Revanth Reddy inspected the ongoing construction of the Warangal Textile Park, emphasising its significance for local economic growth. As part of the Vana Mahotsavam initiative, the Chief Minister also participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the Textile Park.

Later, he inspected the ongoing construction of a government multi-superspeciality hospital and inaugurated the Mahila Shakti canteen at Hanamkonda.

The Chief Minister convened a meeting to review the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) development projects, where he outlined plans to develop Warangal on par with Hyderabad. He instructed the officials to take the required steps to develop Warangal as a heritage city. He directed authorities to expedite the land acquisition process for the Inner and Outer Ring Road projects, which are crucial for enhancing connectivity and infrastructure development. He asked them to furnish the complete details regarding the funds required for land acquisition.

He said the proposed Outer Ring Road should be developed to connect one national highway with another and ensure that a road is developed to connect the outer ring road to Textile Park.

Revanth Reddy also instructed officials to prepare a “Master Plan -2050” for the integrated development of the Warangal city.

In his directives, the Chief Minister emphasised the importance of urban planning, including developing an underground drainage system under the Smart City Mission. Officials have been directed to make plans to lay drinking water pipelines. He also instructed officials to take stringent measures against canal encroachments to safeguard water resources.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted the need for sustainable waste management solutions, urging officials to find a permanent resolution to the dumping issues in Warangal.

The Chief Minister said that the In-charge minister should hold a review on the development of Warangal city every 20 days. He said that the State Government was ready to extend help for the city's development.

Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodara Raja Narasimha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Konda Surekha and Seethakka, CM's advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MPs Kadiam Kavya and Balaram Naik, along with other dignitaries and officials, attended the review meeting.
