Revanth Reddy urges officials to enhance governance

The Chief Minister would visit various districts every week to oversee the implementation of government schemes and development projects.

HYDERABAD; Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed senior officials across all state departments to align their work with the government’s priorities and deliver accountable public governance.

In a meeting held at Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Tuesday, Revanth Reddy emphasised the importance of mastering departmental responsibilities and working collaboratively to provide exemplary governance. He stressed that the officials are responsible for making Telangana a model state. He urged them to adopt innovative ideas and new programs beneficial to the populace, instructing each officer to present a flagship idea to the government within two weeks.

Highlighting the experience of officers who have served under multiple Chief Ministers in undivided Andhra Pradesh, Revanth Reddy called for recognition of government priorities and consistent performance. He emphasised working towards public welfare and state development.

Ministers Komatireddy Venkatreddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Principal Secretary Seshadri, and IAS officers from all 29 departments participated in the meeting.

Revanth Reddy praised the Congress government for implementing five out of six guarantees within the first hundred days of power but noted that work had stalled due to the election code. He urged officials to refocus on administration, stressing the need for discipline and availability in the Secretariat. He mandated weekly district field visits and monthly reviews with senior district officials to monitor departmental performance.

The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction with District Collectors who remain office-bound and directed the Chief Secretary to ensure collectors conduct field visits. He emphasised the importance of visiting hospitals, Anganwadi centres, schools, and other government service departments regularly and responding promptly to public issues.

Revanth Reddy assured officers that their performance would determine their opportunities, with incentives for high achievers. He warned against actions that could tarnish the government’s reputation and urged adherence to advice from the Chief Minister’s office.
